Inna Kanevsky, Ph. D. has been a professor of psychology at San Diego Mesa College for over 20 years.

She was born in Soviet Ukraine, and came to the U.S. in 1994 as a refugee. Her recent interests are history and historical myths of psychology, cult figures in modern psychology, and debunking psychology misinformation on social media. As “Dr. Inna,” she has been fact-checking psychology influencers on TikTok and Instagram since 2020 and amassed around 1.5 million followers across platforms. She also creates direct educational content and engages in advocacy.
